The 断裂英雄剑 is a 困难模式 制作材料. It is not itself a weapon and therefore, cannot be swung, reforged, or placed on a 武器架. It is dropped by certain 敌怪 during the 日食 事件 that varies by platform. On the 
Desktop version, the Broken Hero Sword has a 25% (30.94%) chance of being dropped by 蛾怪, which starts to spawn after all three 机械 Boss have been defeated. On the 
Console version, 
Mobile version, and Nintendo 
version, it is instead dropped by 科学怪人s and 沼泽怪s, with a 0.4% (1/250) chance.

- Given the drop rate, it can be a good idea to use 水蜡烛s and/or 战斗药水s during a 日食, to increase the chances of having multiple Broken Hero Swords dropped.
- As of 1.3.0.1 it is more profitable to craft excess Broken Hero Swords into 原版断钢剑s, as long as you have a surplus of 神圣锭s.
- Comparing the sell values of True Excalibur and its components:
- True Excalibur's base value is 10
- 12 Hallowed Bars' value is 4 80
- Broken Hero Sword's value is 2.
- True Excalibur's base value is 3 20 more than its components.
小知识
- This item is an allusion to the classic literary trope of the disgraced or defeated hero who must repair their sword, or the similar trope of taking up the weapon of a past hero (perhaps killed by the monster dropping this item) to fulfill a destiny.
